WHAT WE ARE

The Fablewrights Circle is a quiet gathering place for readers, writers, illustrators, and those drawn to story. It exists outside of social media, marketing cycles, and performance — a space to pause, reflect, and speak carefully.

Creators of all kinds feel at home here — fantasy, science fiction, historical fiction, folklore, myth, and speculative worlds of every sort. What matters most is not genre, but care for story, imagination, and meaning.

There is no obligation to speak. â€‹Listening is also participating.

WHAT WE DO

This is a discussion space, not a showcase. Members do not post finished work for critique or promotion. Instead, the Circle centers on conversation — about stories we love, ideas we’re exploring, and the creative questions that arise along the way. Inside the Circle, members may post to a shared message board. Posts might include reflections on books or stories you’re reading, questions about craft or worldbuilding, thoughts sparked by myth or folklore, or moments when an idea is still forming and you’re simply thinking it through. This is a conversational space rather than a showcase — sharing is optional, and listening is always welcome.

Members may also choose to receive an occasional email newsletter. This is entirely optional and separate from participation in the Circle. The newsletter, when sent, will share brief notes about upcoming prompts, new essays or books from Jarlsberg Publishing, and occasional reflections on story and craft.

There are no participation requirements, schedules, or expectations to contribute.
